Matthew H. Morgan

No Company Is Too Big to Play Fair

About

Matt is a managing partner at Nichols Kaster and helps lead the firm’s Civil Rights and Impact Litigation team. Matt is widely respected by the legal community and is regularly recognized as among the top lawyers in Minnesota and the United States.

Matt focuses on False Claims Act cases and class actions challenging discrimination, fraud, or other unfair business practices in the areas of employment, consumer, insurance, government contracts, and health care. Matt has tried over 30 individual and class or collective action cases to verdict. He also regularly speaks on topics related to civil litigation and trial, including several times at the National Employment Lawyers Association’s Trial Boot Camp—a national conference teaching trial skills.

In addition to helping manage the firm’s day-to-day operations, Matt has mentored law students, and served as an adjunct faculty member at William Mitchell College of Law, teaching representation skills to first-year students and advanced advocacy to second and third-year law students. He also volunteers as an attorney for the Children's Law Center and in 2023 received a Volunteer Champion Award for his work helping foster children.
