On Wednesday, June 28th, Minneapolis City Council members gave preliminary approval to a proposed minimum wage ordinance that would increase the city’s minimum wage to $15 per hour. The proposed ordinance would require large businesses, with over 100 employees, to phase in the new $15 minimum wage by July 1, 2022, while small businesses would have until July 1, 2024. The City Council is expected to take a final vote Friday, June 30th.
