Nichols Kaster, PLLP attorneys have two separate trials starting on January 17, 2017 in the federal district court for the Northern District of Georgia. The first case, being tried by attorneys Michele Fisher and Robert Schug, is on behalf of a group of male exotic dancers who worked for an Atlanta club called Swinging Richards. The second case, being tried by Paul Lukas, Rebekah Bailey and Jason Friedman, is on behalf of a group of female exotic dancers who worked at Magic City, a well known Atlanta adult entertainment establishment. In both cases, findings have already been made that the dancers should have been classified as employees rather than independent contractors and are entitled to the minimum wage protections of the Fair Labor Standards Act and reimbursement for all house fees, fines and money entertainers were required to tip other employees. The juries in both cases will determine the amount of damages to be paid. The cases are entitled Henderson et al v. 1400 Northside Drive, Inc. d/b/a Swinging Richards, and C.B. Jones, Civ. Action. 1:13-cv-3767, and Vaughan et al v. Paradise Enter. Group, Inc. d/b/a Magic City, Civ. Action 1:14-cv-000914.
