Americash Employee Represented by Nichols Kaster Files Overtime Case

SANTA ANA, CA--(Marketwire - May 13, 2010) -  On May 12, 2010 a former employee of Americash filed suit in the Central District of California, seeking payment under the Fair Labor Standards Act for unpaid overtime wages and failure to pay minimum wage. The case is filed on behalf of all loan officers in the United States who have worked for Americash in the last three years. The complaint names Americash, Paul Giangrande, and Ultimate Staffing Solutions, Inc. as defendants.

The complaint also alleges violations of California's overtime and minimum wage law, as well as violations of a California statute requiring reimbursement of business expenses. The complaint further alleges that affected employees did not receive meal and rest periods required by California law. The complaint seeks penalties under California law.

Plaintiffs' counsel Matthew Helland stated, "Despite the clear law that mortgage loan officers should be non-exempt employees, employers are still failing to pay loan officers for all hours worked. We hope to recover the money that is owed to loan officers at Americash."

Americash, et alin the United States District Court for the Central District of California. It has not yet been assigned a case number.
